Chuck Ramirez: Prematurely Discarded, a collaborative show between Ruiz-Healy Art Gallery and Octavia Art Gallery, opens tonight in Houston, Texas and will run through February 25, 2015. Today we interviewed artist Gary Sweeney for our Tía Chuck documentary. Gary spoke enthusiastically about Chuck’s personality and energetic force in the San Antonio Art Community. We plan to continue scheduling interviews with Chuck’s family and friends over the next several weeks.

We’ve officially begun production on Tía Chuck! It took us some time to clear our schedule and prepare for production, but we have dedicated the rest of the year to this film. Thank you to all of our supporters who have made this project possible. Today we interviewed artist Ken Little at his studio. Talking to Ken was a great way to get started. He is thoughtful, well-spoken, and is a valuable voice for our documentary.

Angela was invited to appear on Plaza de Armas Live, a video webcast hosted by Elaine Wolff and Jade Esteban Estrada, to discuss the Artist Foundation’s upcoming Moveable Art Party. Angela was interviewed alongside artist and Artist Foundation Board Member, Nate Cassie. The program featured excerpts from Walley Films’ documentaries on Vincent Valdez, Gary Sweeney, and raw footage from Tía Chuck.

Today while working on a film for AtticRep we discovered this video of Chuck. It was really touching to find this and makes us want to continue searching for material to use in our documentary.
