Mark and I produced a short documentary film following the work of MOSAIC, a free after-school arts program for high school youth hosted by Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum. One of the projects featured in the film was the printing of “Chuck”, a woodcut by Alex Rubio printed at Stone Metal Press with the help of the MOSAIC student artists. We had previously shared images from this film shoot here.

The students participated in every aspect of the steam roller print process. Each image came out beautifully to the delight of audiences that gathered around all night. A print of “Chuck” was collected by the San Antonio Museum of Art. It’s amazing that the MOSAIC students had the opportunity to collaborate on a piece of artwork that is now part of SAMA’s permanent collection. Thank you to Alex and the MOSAIC student artists for creating this incredible image of Chuck. Watch the film below.
